PRIVATE HOUSES:

Private House, St Vigeans

The proposal is split into 2 distinct wings/blocks: living and sleeping. Both wings are the same height and angled to create an informal living space in between, allowing the main entrance to the house to be at the ‘joint.’

The living wing contains a large open plan kitchen, dining and living space; and is angled to take advantage of the site topography, the south aspect, and the views to the countryside. An external patio wraps around the south-west of the building helping to further unify the 2 blocks and allowing for valuable outdoor living space.

The blocks are clad in standing seam metal to reflect the agricultural heritage of Angus, and the result is a modern family home.
