Arbirlot Meal Mill or Millhill Mill in the Parish of Arbirlot is a Category B Listed Building. The proposal is to form a new 3-bedroom house within the existing walls and new proposed extension of Millhill Mill.

The existing building accommodates on the ground floor: a lounge, dining space, wc, bedroom and staircase. The new single-story extension to the south of the mill has an open planned kitchen and family room. The new terrace is accessed via large sliding glazed doors which allow for natural sunlight to enter the dwelling whilst also offering impressive views out toward the river and rural surroundings. The first floor accommodates two larger bedrooms, each with en-suite bathrooms.

The existing stonework of the mill is to be retained and repaired where necessary to help keep the sense of character and place which the mill holds in Arbirlot. The new natural slate roof to the mill aims to mirror the historic appearance of the building.

The new extension will be finished with Siberian Larch which refers to surrounding timber agricultural buildings but also creates a clear definition between the historic existing building and the new modern contemporary addition.
