The existing dwelling a traditional three bedrooms house with a very small tight kitchen hidden at the rear.

The proposal created a new open plan kitchen dining living space with large french doors, and carefully positioned roof lights which let natural light deep into the plan. A glazed canopy acts as a further outdoor/indoor space.

The result is a small contemporary extension that allows for the open planned space to seamlessly connect house with the garden.

In 2019 the project was Shortlisted in the Angus Design Awards for Best Extension of the last Decade.
