The existing house is a large 1.5 story property with a ground floor conservatory to the south west. The conservatory was replaced with a modern extension, with the existing house also being opened up to create a larger open plan space.

The proposed materials were chosen to allow the extension to be visually distinct from the main house, whilst complimenting the existing materials palette. New stonework is in keeping with the existing stonework features and basecourse whilst the new metal roof is introduced as a modern solution to accommodate the low pitch. Externally the roof pitch was kept low to avoid an existing bedroom window.

The extension will create an open planned kitchen, dining, and family area by opening up the existing house wall. The new large will windows offer a much better family space as well as a direct connection from the space to the garden via folding sliding doors to allow the room to be opened up to the patio/garden.

Large areas of rooflights will allow natural light to shine not only over the dining/living area but deep into the existing space.
