The site at located in the small hamlet of Dunnichen to the east of Forfar in Angus, and the existing house is a former Manse to a Category B Listed Parish Church.

The proposal is a simple Oak Framed building, with a pitched slate roof to match the existing building. Due to the nature of the sun-room there is lots of external glass to connect the space to the garden and the expansive south views to the countryside. The roof pitch is the same as the existing building and the room fits comfortable to the side of the main Southern gable, adjoining the stone clad existing garage building.

At the rear the outbuilding will be cut back to allow for a small flat roofed area to connect the sunroom with the existing lounge. The raised flat roof section was necessary to provide adequate head height for the access and stairs down to the sun room (due the existing house floor level being much higher than the outside).

In extension is both sympathetic and complementary to the Conservation setting and the existing listed building, and will greatly enhance the former Manse and living spaces.
